Welcome to Yorktown UMC! Whether you’re new to town or new to church, we’re glad to have you with us. Our primary worship gathering is Sunday morning at 9:30am.  Feel free to come as you are and dress as you please.

When you come through the front door, you’ll be met by a greeter who will have a bulletin for you. The bulletin will give you the order of worship so that you can easily follow along. Don’t forget to pick up your visitor gift, and fill out the connect card if you’d like us to follow up with you.  Before you head into the sanctuary, help yourself to a cup of coffee or a chai tea latte.

If you’re attending with small children and would like to utilize nursery care (5 and under), you’ll find well-stocked nursery care with loving attendants ready to shower your little ones with God’s love. We promise they’ll have a great time!

Older children begin with their parents in the sanctuary, and will then be dismissed for children’s church following the children’s sermon.  If your youngster prefers to remain in the sanctuary, they are more than welcome. Pastor Kate has three small children at home, and knows how to preach through toddler antics and baby squeals.

Half-way through the service, we take up an offering. Monetary gifts are one way followers of Christ contribute to the ministry of our church. Gifts for that purpose are always welcome, but we don’t expect visitors to give financially.  Feel free to let the plate pass right on by.    If you’re joining us on Communion Sunday, you are more than welcome to participate as you feel comfortable. We have an “open table” which means ANYONE who wants more of God is welcome to come and receive! Gluten free elements are available upon request.

If you have special needs, please let a greeter know how we can best accommodate you.  There are hearing devices available for those hard of hearing. We also have a wheel chair available for anyone who needs help getting to a comfortable seat. If you would like to receive communion but are unable to come forward, you can be served in your seat.

At the end of service, we hope you’ll say hi to our pastor and worship leader, who stand at the main door following service!    Again, thank you for joining us in worship. We hope to see you again!
